"I need a logo" is the most common request we get, and the truth is the logo is the smallest part of an identity. The identity is the system that makes your brand recognisable even when the logo isn't visible.
What you should receive
- The logo in every version: horizontal, vertical, icon-only, single-colour, and a dark-background version.
- Open source files: AI or SVG — not just PNGs.
- A colour palette: with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, not "that blue".
- Typography: an Arabic and a Latin typeface with weights and usage rules.
- Brand guidelines: clear space, minimum size and prohibited uses.
- Applications: business card, letterhead, packaging and social templates.
Why guidelines matter
Because any designer who works with you afterwards will hold the same standard. Without them, every designer improvises, and a year later your brand has five different personalities.
Signs an identity was rushed
- The logo becomes unreadable at icon size.
- There is no version that works on a dark background.
- Colours look different in print than on screen.
- The chosen typeface has no Arabic counterpart.
Quick test: shrink the logo to 32 pixels. If it stops being legible, it needs revision.
At Dr Media we deliver complete brand guidelines with all source files, fully owned by you.
